Staff Meeting Minutes - Volunteer Coordinator

Kathy did an excellent job of summarizing the information we tossed about as far as the duties of the volunteer coordinator.  She also included training information that would be useful for the shelf readers.  Please take a look and add any information to the comments section.

I added a link to the information (Minutes from Jan. 18 meeting - Volunteer coordinator.) , which is now in Google Documents.

(We found the old shelving instructions, so Joan and Kathy will take a look at that to be added.)  We're on our way!!

  1. Other items we talked about -

    Koha changes this year
    Maybe new web site
Using and promoting the databases and overdrive
    space issues

    Anything else?

  2. I added a word document to the desktop of the "cataloging" computer, titled "Shelf Reader Template". This can be used by anyone to make a shelf reader label. dcf

  3. Great job on vol. coordinator info. Speaking from a volunteer's point of view, it's great motivation to continue when staff makes an effort to be friendly & frequently say thanks & how much they appreciate what I'm doing. Sue

  4. The Volunteer Coord. job description draft that Kathy started is very helpful. The italic font are items I tweeked or have questions about.
All staff be sure to add anything you think of that will make the document more complete. We will discuss at the next staff meeting. What about physical expectations of the volunteers and the coordinator? Sue, nice to hear from you.
As a volunteer have you ever had to sign some type of waiver? Another complexity? JB
